Creative play is essential within the early years learning environment. Playing with blocks boosts children’s imagination and helps them to develop their vocabulary and maths knowledge as well as teaching them engineering skills and the basics of gravity and balance. Blocks encourage children to match, count and sort, finding the best solution or block to suit their latest engineering marvel!

Block play is extremely beneficial not only for a child’s physical development, but it is also important for their emotional and social growth as they learn to share and listen to others. Cognitively, children become aware of symbolisation and directionality, making comparisons and trusting their judgement to reason and think logically.
